Cemetery Upkeep
IJRĀʾĀT ABŪ ṬALḤAH رضي الله عنه
INTRODUCTION
This project centers around the ongoing upkeep of the prayer facility at the Middelburg Cemetery, to maintain the cleanliness of the prayer area, including ablution corners, as well as providing sanitation requirements. Madrasah personnel volunteer to clean the prayer facilities and amenities of the Middelburg Muslim Cemetery.
Inspiration
During the era of Nabī Ṣallallāhu ʿAlayhi Wa Sallam two companions were known for digging the graves.
- Abū Ṭalḥah al-Anṣārī رضي الله عنه would dig the Laḥd style grave.
- Abū ʿUbaydah ibn al-Jarrāḥ رضي الله عنه would dig the Shaqq style grave.
Historians mention that Abū Ṭalḥah al-Anṣārī رضي الله عنه dug the grave of Nabī Ṣallallāhu ʿAlayhi Wa Sallam.
In honour of this noble Ṣaḥābī رضي الله عنه this project has been named after him.
